Artificial Business Intelligence

I just searched for “Artificial Business Intelligence” on Google and, unsurprisingly, the term is already in use. This reminds me of the enthusiasm my former boss had for incorporating new business jargon into marketing materials. He believed that coining a term that sounded innovative and promising was a victory in itself, regardless of the actual outcomes.

However, the purpose of this post is not to discuss the semantics of business language. I want to share the vision and goals behind Data Raccoon.

Here’s the big question that’s been on my mind:

Can AI run a business?

And I don’t mean just any business. I’m talking about one that you can measure objectively and in real-time. My hypothesis is that we humans aren’t so great at picking up signals quickly or acting fast. Bureaucracy in companies slows us down, and people hiding information to protect their jobs only makes things worse. It’s like we’re driving a massive truck with super low visibility.

To even start tackling this question, I need to set up a few things:

Well-defined and accessible data

Any business-related data must be well-defined and easily accessible for AI models.

Business as a function

The business should be defined as a function with inputs and outputs. For instance, Cost per Click (CPC) is an input that influences the output of a business, e.g., profit.

So, wish me luck on this. I’m excited to see where this goes!
